Landon won the Auburn Family Week essay contest for his age group and read his entry at the Performing Arts Center on Sunday evening. This was his essay:First Place : Landon Evans Grade 2 Lakeland Hills
"My family is the best. First, they took me to “The Rock”. My family is kind. They help me with my math homework. My family is honest. They teach me to be honest. In my home we lean to tell the truth. My family is helpful. They help me and my brother to get to school. My family cares about me. They want me to have a safe place where I can sleep and eat. My family is fun to play with. One night me and my family played “Clue”. My family comforts me. They make me calm when I am mad. My family is patient. They wait for me to be done with something. My family is the greatest family in the world! "

Landon has been a bit disappointed that no one has left a comment here. I suppose a dose of humility will do him good. It was a nice essay. We really hope it meant every word of it!
